Case Study:

SENIOR CARE SERVICES – SPECIAL NEEDS CHILD

Mrs. Butler lived at home; she had macular degeneration and was losing her vision.  She was very organized with files and three-ring binders containing all her personal and financial information.  She had another pressing concern; her special needs daughter who lived in a group home.  All of Mrs. Butler’s time and attention was focused on supervising her daughter’s care.  Mrs. Butler took the doctor’s diagnosis to her attorney, who recommended that Mrs. Butler talk to several trust divisions in San Antonio.  Mrs. Butler met with a wealth advisor from Broadway and decided to give Broadway a trial.  She wanted to make sure she could rely on and trust the people taking care of her and her daughter while she still could see.  As Mrs. Butler’s eyesight failed, Broadway took over paying bills and verbally reviewing with her all transactions that occurred in her account.  When Mrs. Butler’s daughter’s health prevented her from living in the group home, the wealth advisor arranged for the daughter’s care at home with her mother, adding more services as Mrs. Butler’s health declined.  After 12 years, we assisted Mrs. Butler and her daughter with a move to a nursing home.  We also sold their home.  Broadway continues to provide services to Mrs. Butler and her daughter.  At Mrs. Butler’s death, we will serve as trustee for Mrs. Butler’s daughter through a special needs trust.
