Case Study:

INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT – LIQUIDITY EVENT/SALE OF BUSINESS

Ann came to us following a significant liquidity event – the selling of the family business.  As is usual in these circumstances, there were many uncertainties and many questions to be answered.  Over the years, we have learned that answering those questions is not an event, but a process.  We worked with Ann to establish an initial investment plan that would accomplish several goals – consolidating her funds, initiating the framework of a long-term investment plan, providing sufficient liquidity, and attaining a level of comfort for Ann.

It took almost two years before Ann was able to comfortably identify her liquidity needs and spending patterns.  As the certainty grew, so did the refinement of her investment plan.  We helped Ann reach an understanding of what her assets could produce and how that compared with her spending needs.  Now, in year three, we have achieved much of Ann’s original goal.   Ann has been able to consolidate most of her financial affairs under one roof.  She has a trusted team of professionals who work on her accounts and meet with her regularly to review the plan, review her current needs and objectives, balance the needs and objectives with the potential of the portfolio, and make adjustments where necessary.  A solid relationship has developed and within that relationship we will continue to offer service that will meet Ann’s financial and life needs.
