In the past, you have had the availability of a standard overdraft service for your account. This service may have been used to pay transactions submitted to your account if sufficient funds were not available to cover a check, ATM withdrawal or any debit transaction.

Recently, the Federal Reserve issued a regulation that requires banks to give customers the choice of “Opting In” to allow the continuation of the overdraft service for ATM and everyday debit card transactions.

IF YOU “OPT IN”
Your debit or ATM card will work as it usually does. If the bank authorizes an ATM or debit card transaction despite your account having insufficient funds, you will incur an overdraft fee of $28.00 (as set forth in our fee schedule). “Opting In” means you will continue to have coverage in case of a mistake in account balancing or when you may be short on cash. There is no fee for this overdraft coverage if you never use it.
